Japanese Nuclear Radiation Impact: Radiation Exposure Milk and Vegetables

The first Japanese government-related findings of radiation threat from Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Fukushima Daiichi shows milk from Fukushima Prefecture, and a kind of spinach exposed to radiation from Ibaraki Prefecture. Tests on food, as news AP, Kyodo, and AFP on Saturday (03/19/2011), indeed implemented the new authorities on Thursday.

The concern, both the food was actually produced outside the exclusion zone around 30 kilometers from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant damaged by the 9.0 scale earthquake followed by tsunami on Friday (03/11/2011).

Recorded levels above the legal limit of radiation in Japan for food. However, the level is below the level deemed hazardous.

In detail, the authorities are now doing tests to find out the origin precisely the products and get to any distribution. They have not decided whether to withdraw these products from stores.

The officials called for residents to remain calm. A government spokesman said, people should drink the contaminated milk for a year to get a radiation dose equivalent to scanning of chemotherapy in the hospital.
